Hi Penny!
Nitro is doing wonderful! Kay said last night that "We could never find a
dog
to fit so well with our family as Nitro" and I have to concur. Its hard to
believe he's a rescue dog. There is no food aggression, no marking, no
disruptive behavior whatsoever. Even the House Grouch cat doesn't hiss at
him.
He does go into a P.O.W. mode now and then where he stares blankly at
nothing
in particular. Sometimes I'll pick him up and sit him on the couch next to
me
and he'll just stay in that position until I divert his attention with pets
and silliness.
We are wondering where the name NITRO came from. Couch Potato or Mr. Sleep
and Cuddle is what we get most of the time but that's just fine. He can be
whom ever he wants to be, he is safe and loved.
He is starting to talk. Affens make sounds like the Ewoks from
Starwars....kinda look like them too. Of course you wouldn't know that
because I haven't sent any pictures except one. It turns our that I'm having
a problem with my floppy drive. I have a spare one at work so I'll pick it
up
on Wednesday and see if I can't get some JPEGs your way.
Peace and a Joyous New Year To Ya!!
Allen and Kay
I got this email from Allen the other day..we have
kept in touch, and they love Nitro so much. He keeps
promising me pics, but has yet to deliver any. :( lol
Penny
Hi Penny!!!
Its good to hear from you, Nitro's health is about the same, he'll eat fine
for about a week
and then stop for a day.
None of his tests have
pinpointed the cause yet so
we've started saving up for the next set of tests.
But he sure as heck doesn't act sick!!!! He's turned
into a great little guy
that loves to play. He snarls and growls and barks
and uses that act to get
someone to "chase"him. He's always the first one out
the door and the last to
come in and is basically NUTS!!! And he sure does
like to snuggle up with me
or Kay and will be happy to just lay quietly (until
someone goes leaves the
room and he HAS to follow to see what's going on.)
If Kay or I are home alone
he is our shadow and we're almost totally trained
not to trip over him.
Oh ..... and he's also a shredder and eater of
papers. The other day he made
himself a wonderful nest in my briefcase that I had
carelessly left open on
the kitchen floor. I had to tell my students that
"my dog ate their homework"
:-D
So all in all things are going good with an
occasional "sick day" to keep us
worried until he starts eating again.
I hope all is well with you and yours and we'll
include Abby in our prayers.
peace, allen
