Precious
11 year old Precious
passed to the Rainbow Bridge
June 21 2005
Precious did finally have her very own Mommy &
Daddy and she did not die alone in a dark corner of a puppymill.

A wonderful little soul placed here on
earth,
With hope from the loving Father above for her to have a beautiful life.
But not to be so for many long years, she lived each long day
in the dark cold place called "mills."
No love did she have, no tender touch or soft bed, barely enough to eat,
just the terrible smells, and the cries in the night from those other
little ones
that shared her plight.
No comforting hands, no hugs and kisses, no one to tell her that she was
loved,
this little one suffered, day in, day out, at the rough uncaring hands of
the mill.
And then one day, when all hope was fading, two wonderful angels came,
and called her by name.
Come here to us little Precious sweet one, we are taking you home, where
you will be
loved and cared for, beyond anything you have dreamed.
Don't be afraid, you have nothing more to fear, we will hold you and love
you,
and wash away your tears.
You will have a nice warm dry bed, lots of good food, toys and friends; we
will love you forever, our dear sweet little one.
And so it was, these angels spoke the truth; a new life unfolded, and
Precious was in awe.
She began to trust this new life of hers, with wonderment at all of the
love and nurturing; people really could be nice.
She became her ownself, with nothing to fear, she loved her human angel,
her dear foster Mom, and kept her near.
And so it went, a wonderful new life, but Precious knew she was waiting,
waiting for her own special Mom and Dad of her own, that her dear angel
Foster Mom told her so often about.
Precious felt the excitement, something was about to happen, a new family
in her life, and so she waited, trying to be patient, after all, what was
a little more time.
The big day arrived, and there they were, her new Mom and Dad, with a new
life to share.
Her Angel Foster Mom, whispered in her ear, it is all right, go along dear
one, your family is here.
Precious cuddled in the arms of her new Mom and Dad. They loved her so
dearly, and vowed to give her a wonderful forever life, with not a thing
to fear.
But sadly sweet Precious became gravely ill, everyone tried to save her
life but it wasn't to be. She heard her Mother's voice, and gave a little
bark, I love you dear Mom and Dad, and so peacefully she died in her
Daddy's arms, surrounded by love.
Don't worry Mom and Dad, I will see you again, some day on the bridge, I
will watch for you to come.
Until then I thank you, and love you so much, please know that I will be
watching over you, and remembering your gentle touch.
It is beautiful here, I am with lots of my friends, we have plenty to eat,
we run and have a lot of fun in the most glorious warm sun. Angels are
around us all of the day, and at bedtime they tuck us in and say, "sweet
dreams little ones."
So try not to be too sad, dear Mom and Dad, you have some more work to do
down there.
You will know when it is time to please help save some of my brothers and
sisters from life at the mill.
You will never know, how much you have meant to me, in this beautiful
short time I was with you. But for me, it was a lifetime, you see, you
took away my memories of the mill, so that all I remember, is your tender
love and good will.
Lovingly dedicated to the memory of Precious, my little pal
Enid Yonker, PMR Mom to Meghan, Justin, Tess
Mom to Emily, and rescue babies Jack and Bobby
In Memory of another little angel, our sweet Missie, at the bridge
Precious was helped to the Bridge today in the loving arms of her very own
Daddy. She became ill quite suddenly and had an autoimmune disorder,
similar to human leukemia. Her Loving Mama, Cary was nearby. She had been
home for only twelve days.
Precious was very happy in her new home. I think she waited until she had
that loving family that knew she was the Queen of the house. I wish she
could have stayed with us awhile longer. Precious always did things her
own way to the very end.
Thank you Cary and Darrell for fulfilling Precious Dreams. When Cary saw
her this morning, she barked and rallied for her. She let Cary know that
she loved her, that she was Mama.
Sweet Dreams little one,
Jan Smith
Precious Foster Mom
Cary called me this morning. I want her to post this
story, but I have to tell the foster moms. Precious has made herself at
home. They have emptied a bottom shelf (bookcase type) so Precious can have
a private look out place while they are in the kitchen.
When they were in the living room this morning, Cary was lying flat on the
floor on her stomach talking to Precious. She was trying to get her to come
for some loving. Nope--Precious was busy exploring the living room. Cary
just lay still and saw Precious coming towards her. Precious climbed up on
Cary's BACK, settled down and went to sleep!!!
So there lays Cary, not moving, telling Darrell not to try to move to get
the camera or he will wake up the sleeping Princess!!! I don't know how long
they were like that, but Precious finally wiggled around and slid off. I
just love it!!! She has the whole family at her beck and call!!!

Update May
27th
Precious has been having tummy problems for a few months now. Bloating,
constipation, diarrhea. Right now it is diarrhea. There was an x-ray done in
December of 2004. Medications do not seem to be helping the problem.
Today there was another x-ray done. Dr. Hardwick says they are seeing
something around or in the stomach. They will need to do an ultrasound to
see what it is. However, Dr. Hardwick has told Jan that there is a definite
change from the x-rays taken in December '04.
Precious will not be up for adoption for awhile , we will keep you updated.
Precious is a happy 11 year old female yorkie. She
weighs 5.5
pounds. She is shy with people at first, but would love a chance to
have a quiet stay at home family where she can enjoy sleeping on the
couch on a blanket and having a belly rub. She enjoys begging for soft
treats and doing her little happy dance to get them.
Precious has only 3 teeth left from her hard years in the mill. She
has had several mammary tumors removed. Her heart, liver and kidneys
are fine. She takes medicine for her thyroid and one for her
breathing. She has a dry morning cough, but her overall health is
excellent.
Precious is very alpha, and would do best in a home with submissive
small dogs, or as an only dog. She does not understand that she has no
teeth to defend herself with, and will argue to prove her dominance. She
would not do well with cats as she loves to chase them, and would try to
hurt them if she caught one. (Once again, without teeth, she would be
the one go be hurt). Because of her small size she will not go
to a home with small children.
Precious is really getting the idea of potty on the pee pads, or if
you take her outside. She does still have accidents, but is getting
better.
Seniors make wonderful companions. If you think Precious might fit
in your family, please press that adopt button.
