| Saber is FANTASTIC!!!! There
really has not been a rough
break in period. I think it helped that I was able to be here at the house
in such a concentrated fashion. Even though my job is as busy as ever, it
is mostly on the computer and phone with controlled travel. So the " potty
training" has gone well- I just make sure every 2 hours he is going
outside.
The doggie door is the only thing- he does not like the "flap"
that comes down, so I tape it up but it makes the house cold . A friend
gave me a wonderful suggestion which I will try a little more when the
weather warms up- to replace the plastic flap with just a soft cloth like
curtain so it doesn't perhaps scare him.
But anyway- we LOVE this dog. He
loves to cuddle, he loves to play with Mickey and I knew this would work
from the minute I heard from Sara. I hope this has not been to traumatic
for her as I know this caused her anguish to give him up and I still have
to say, she and Darcy did a FANTASTIC job with him. He has adapted to our
entire family so well. Art's mom now has another reason to come and visit.
I don't know why she won't commit to a little dog but she says she still
wants to travel some and we do live 1.5 hrs away.
Saber sits by her while she reads on the couch.
And at first he was afraid of the 3 kids in the neighborhood who call me
"Aunt Debbie"- they have an absent Mother- divorce stuff- so I always see
them and they come around when I am planting in the front yard as they
love
to help.
Well this weekend- a short 5 weekends after his arrival, I just marveled
because there they all were laying on the floor together watching TV as I
had my nephew over and the 2 of them for a sleep over. Saber was one of
the
gang along with Mickey and Merlin. Yesterday Sunday was glorious here in
SOuthern California- so much so that I loaded up the kids with their bikes
and all 3 dogs in my van and went to the beach. The kids played on their
bikes and the Sand Dunes and I laid out my big blanket on the grass in the
sun. After a great walk all 3 dogs and I just rested in the sun, watched
the kids, and life was good. What more can I say. Saber is having a great
>time here and we are in LOve again.
One final thing, last week I had one account call to my account in Beverly
Hills area. SO since it was going to be brief I took Mickey and Saber in
the car with me and afterwards walked Saber and Mickey down the promenade
in Beverly Hills!!!! SABER DID BEVERLY HILLS!!!!!! He is such a class act
Iva , you are always free to call or email. I love talking about Saber-
he is an adorable angel. I kiss him every night as he cuddles in with us
and I reach for him every morning.... |
