February 2010 Update! Pearl has been back in foster care in North Texas for four months and is making progress. As far as her urination problem, we have found as long as you don't let her get too worked up she does just fine. We are also working on leash training and she is doing better, however, she will need a very secure fenced yard because she is a flight risk. Pearl has been out of the mill over 3 years. She continues to run in fear when she hears loud noises, sees fast movements, or there is any change in her normal routine. Pearl will always have some problems and whoever adopts her will have to accept and love her "as is". She is a sweet, loving little lady, however, it will take an extremely tolerant and patient family to accept her and her quirks.

She has recovered from her surgery to remove a fatty tumor and metal sutures from her stomach. Pearl has luxating patellas in both back knees that may require surgery in the future. She has dental problems that will require extra care. In addition she has eye allergies. She is a high maintenance dog as far as grooming due to the thickness of her coat and undercoat.

Pearl will make an excellent lap dog for a person who is home most of the time and who has a calm, quiet demeanor and household. She loves to be held and petted.

She needs somebody who is familiar with rehabilitating special needs and/or emotionally damaged dogs from puppymills. If you think you have the knowledge, patience and experience to work with this damaged puppymill survivor and you have the right home environment for her needs, please click on the adopt button and fill out our application.

If you have any questions regarding Pearl, please contact her foster Mom, Linda, at landerslblanders@aol.com.

LOOK WHO'S BACK IN TOWN!! Pearl is an almost 6 year old female white and tan Pomeranian. She weighs around 5 1/2-6 lbs. She was a puppymill dog that PMR rescued from a abusive home in July 2007. She was returned to PMR because her adopter decided after a year and three months that Pearl was not a good fit in her home. This was primarily due to the fact that Pearl will submissively urinate when excited or stressed and she did not do well around dominant or alpha dogs. She needs a calm, quiet, peaceful environment. Pearl is a very happy, social, loving, playful little girl that will fill your heart with joy. Please be sure you can give her a forever home so she is never, ever discarded again in her life. For more information on Pearl, contact her foster Mom at landerslblanders@aol.com.

We leave that on for 3-4 days and then we get her stitches out in 2 weeks. You can see she is a bit droopy, but not too bad.
