Adopt Me  features Pedro

Home

Pedro is an almost 6 year old male, neutered Chihuahua.
He is black, tan and white and weighs between 51/2-6 lbs.
He was one of PMR rescue dog, Maia's pups, born into freedom on May 15,
2003.
Pedro was adopted through Puppymillrescue but has to return to the PMR fold
as his adopter developed very serious health problems.
Pedro has been with the woman's daughter and family. It is a very busy
household with a lot of activity causing him much stress with his level of
anxiety he is unable to tolerate it very well.

He is a loving sweet boy to his person and certain others . He is also
very affectionate once he feels comfortable in his surroundings and gets to
know his person and others. Once he gets to know you he will prefer to
spend most if not all of his time by his person(s) side
He is most affectionate/most comfortable with his main caretaker(s) and he's
sure to gain your affection very quickly.

However, he is a dominant dog, competitive with other male dogs and also
displays fear aggression towards some humans, but his bark is bigger than
his bite. Meaning to say he will bark continuously at a stranger, but will
then most likely run and hide behind the first thing he can find. However,
he has very high-level anxiety levels at times and tends to nip or charge if
he feels threatened or is handled too roughly, so a home with small children
is not recommended.

We haven't figured out a pattern to his behavior but he is going into a
foster home where he is the only dog.
We hope to manage his problems and establish some boundaries for him, along
with giving him the love and security he needs.
He would do well in a home with no children or other male dogs.
