Queenie

Bought from a life of horror,
Taken from a life of shame,
Brought to a loving homeplace,
Given a new name.

Loved and kissed and  hugged,
taught that LOVE is the norm,
To Queenie the best was given,
and to the world inform,
that PMR is heaven, that life on earth is grand, that never again will
she be beaten,
by an unkind lifted hand.

So Queenie, even tho we will miss you,
we know in our hearts so true,
that your life on earth has ended,
but begun in heaven anew.

And when Jan's life on earth is ended,
she''ll join at the Bridge with you,
and as her knee is bended,
the love in your eyes will shine thru.
For you know that the Mom that you knew here,
has come home to live again with you.

FOR THE LOVE OF 'CASSIE'

Cassie was our first baby we adopted from PMR.  The Sunday we picked her up at the airport and I first looked into those eyes...I was hooked.  It was love at first sight.  I took her out of her carrier and she went right into my arms and stayed there the whole ride home.  What a sweetie she was.

We took Cass to the vet the next day news was not that good.  She had a rash that would just not go away.  Had a slight heart murmur and a lot of noise in her chest.  She had also had an injury to her neck and jaw,  that we are sure came from her life in the mill...she also had only 2 teeth left...we could only guess what this poor baby had gone thru in her life with these monsters.

Cass was a little fighter..she loved her new life.  The first time she stepped on grass she put her little paw now,..and quickly picked it up...the grass had dew on it and she had no idea what it was.  She quickly fell in love with my Yucca plant..she loved going out there and pulling on the leaves...now Cass had no teeth (she had to have her last 2 pulled) but she could get those leaves off...and when she did she walked proudly thru the yard with her prize.

After a short time Cass was put on preds for her neck and back, and on Amoxicillin to help prevent infections...the preds did wonders for her...I then put her on alternative medicine and after a time her heart showed no signs of a murmur.  We took xrays and found that her lungs were almost gone.  Put her on Lasix along with alternative medicine and she was doing really good.  She would run and play, eat like there was no tomorrow, and loved to chew on bones and bark...When Cass found her voice there was no stopping her...She talked to me constantly.

But after awhile Cass started going downhill...but she kept right on fighting..My vets couldn't believe how well she had done for so long and none of us were willing to give up.  She was given medicine so her lungs wouldn't have to work so hard.
It worked for awhile but in the ends the lungs could just not function anymore.
All Cassie's  problems came from her life in the mill...she didn't deserve what was dealt to her.

Cass was herself right until the end.  We played that day, she ate good and we went for our ride.  That night I noticed that Cass was not herself...She wanted me to hold her so I picked her up and she layed her head on my shoulder, snuggled in my neck and closed her eyes.  I rocked her and hummed to her...and she went peacefully to the Rainbow Bridge.

I will never forget this brave little girl....who gave so much love and taught me so much...she was my heart and a part of me went with her that day.

I only wish that people would understand what life for these dogs is like in a puppymill...what horrors they go thru...the suffering...the broken spirits.  I for one think that the people who give up so much to help these poor babies are 'Angels'.  If not for them I would have never had my precious Cassie.  She would have spent all her days in the mill and never have known freedom.

In Memory of my precious Angel Cassie who went to the Rainbow Bridge on September 27, 2000.  Always and Forever in my Heart.

July 2000

Romp on Mr. Tibbs, heavens gates await.
Run and play and lick the nose
of the One who is so Great.
Tell the others gathered there
that your Mom did her best,
She hugged, and hummed and snuggled close,
and as an Angel passed the test.
She knew you must go on above,
to play tag with all the rest,
so she kissed you one last time,
and with her tears she blessed.
When our time comes to meet our Lord we know that you'll be there,
along with all the rest your doggy kisses with us to share

But that one special  kiss
that'll ease the pain,
you'll save for your Angel........
Elaine.
Rest in Peace little one, till we meet again.

“RALPH” a Memorial from the members of PMR list at Egroups. Rescued from a life of hell at a puppymill auction by PMR on 3/1/00 put to death by a person who did not understand ! on 5/23/00.

My only consolation in this is that Ralph as you can tell in this picture
had a good time while he was here with me and the other dogs...he was happy
and bouncy and loved being out in the yard and would lay in the
sunshine...so at least he got a little happiness...I am so sorry for sending
him to Linda...he was one of our favorites..

Olive July 2000. Heaven's Amazing Grace

Olive July 2000. Heaven's Amazing Grace
Some people say that animals are soulless, but they haven't studied the
Bible. Genesis 9:4 says, "But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is,
its blood." The word translated as "life" is the Hebrew word nephesh, which
also translates as "soul." Animals in the bible clearly can be obedient to
God, such as Balaam's ass or the lions who didn't eat Daniel, or disobedient
such as the serpent who spoke Satan's words to Eve.
When I decided to name Olive "Heaven's Amazing Grace," I didn't know how she
would demonstrate "Grace" so clearly. She lived a rough life as a puppymill
breeder which mortally damaged her health. Yet she showed sweetness and
forgiveness to humankind. She snuggled with me, even on her first day with
me. She followed around and gave me sweet kisses. She was willing to be
stroked by the various people I showed her to.
I am looking forward to the time when she, and the other creatures including
me, will join together to praise God as prophesied in Revelation 5:13. "And
every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and
such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: 'Blessing
and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne and to the
Lamb, forever and ever!'"

Velma

Goodnight My Angel...wish I could turn back time but I cannot .I am so sorry....last pictures taken of her enjoying her sheepskin bed just two days ago....she loved it...thanks to everyone who sent things to her .I am quite at a loss here.

Gail L Clemons

She never had chance to live in her own house and own her own human. :o( I know, however, she was greatly loved by her foster mom and by everyone on this list who read about her.  It is GREAT to know Velma was loved so much and by so many people after what she had been through in her life!!!  I am sure Velma knew we loved her!.  Rachel

My heart also goes out for Charla that was in the process of adopting Velma
and Gail who had to watch her pass away.  Mary.

Dear Gail, I cannot thank you enough for your loving compassion and care for my Velma. That she passed in the presence of  your love is a great gift. You are our heroine.  May God bless you and grant you peace. Sincerely yours,

Charla.

Farewell Friend, yet not farewell.
where I go, ye too, shall dwell.
I am gone, before your face,
a moments time a little space.
when ye have gone where I have stepped,
ye will wonder, why ye wept.
